Call for Expressions of Interest

Slow Dance Lab/Sally Morgan is engaging three versatile performers to work on the creation/re-performance process of Kinergy (1980), originally choreographed by Diane Moore. Kinergy is part of The Diane Moore Legacy Project (a multi-year research/performance project that includes a book and a live retrospective event).

Artists will be working in collaboration with Director/Choreographer Sally Morgan, Artistic Collaborator/Rehearsal Director Kate Holden, Choreographic Consultant Louise Hoyt Mussett, at a distance, Writer Suzanne Miller, and, in spirit, the late Choreographer, Diane Moore.

Who can apply? (Eligibility)

Professional artists with at least five years of experience in their field, who have professional dance/movement training.

Artists with a strong foundation in modern dance, post-modern dance, improvisational and somatic movement practices or a combination of all of these.

Artists living in Nova Scotia during the time of the creation process will be prioritized. Those from outside the Halifax Regional Municipality will be considered but funding for accommodations/per diem/ travel would be up to the artist. Slow Dance Lab/Sally Morgan is happy to write a letter of support for any travel funding applied for.
