Camp Information & Code of Conduct

Summer camp is the perfect place to make new friends, try new things and have lots of fun!
Here are a few ways to make sure your camper is set up to have the best time!

What to Expect at a GMB Summer Dance Camp!

Each day is an opportunity for campers to explore different dance styles, creative games, and fun arts & crafts.

Campers will sample different dance styles such as Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz.

Classes will introduce campers to techniques for generating movement and building choreography, and they will flex their dramatic muscles with fun exercises for performers.

Arts & crafts will be exciting but mess-free and great keepsakes to remember their fantastic time at Dance Camp!

What To Pack:

  • A water bottle

  • Dance shoes (not mandatory)

  • Snacks*: mid-morning and afternoon
*Please make sure all snacks are nut-free

  • Lunch (for full-day campers)

  • Sunscreen

  • Outdoor shoes

  • A few layers for different weather, and extra underclothes - just in case 😬

Before & After Camp

  • Camp begins at 9:00 am.

  • Pick-up times are 3:00 pm for the end of the day or 4:00 pm for campers who require after-camp childcare.

  • Parents and caregivers are asked to bring their dancers to the side entrance of the Hants Border Hall connecting to the back of the building (kitchen). Camper belongings, including lunches and snacks and outdoor clothes, will be left in the kitchen.

  • Although there are two washrooms to use, there are no change rooms at this time.  It is recommended to have your dancer suited up in their dance clothing before coming to the studio.

  • When the class is over, parents and caregivers are asked to be ready to pick up their dancer on time.

Childcare is available before and after camp for an additional fee.
Please make sure to arrange this at registration.

In Case of Emergency

If you are running late or an emergency requires the care of your dancer at the Hall for longer than expected, please text me 604 315 9296.  I will make sure your dancer is safe.

Code of Conduct

GMB Dance is looking forward to providing your child with a fun, memorable, and safe summer dance camp experience. However, each camper has a responsibility to act in a way that assures a positive experience for all. Therefore, all campers are required to follow these guidelines:

Behaviour Guidelines

  • Campers shall be responsible for their words and actions.

  • Campers shall be respectful of others.

  • Campers shall follow directions from staff members, including volunteer assistants.

Prohibited Behaviors

  • Endangering the health and safety of themselves, other campers, and/or staff or volunteers.

  • Stealing, damaging, or failing to care for the Hantsport Baptist Church or personal property.

  • Continual disruption of the program.

  • Refusal to follow the behaviour guidelines.

  • Inappropriate physical contact.

  • Using profanity or inappropriate language.

  • Bullying or acts of aggression or violence.

  • Possession of weapons - any object that may cause harm to another, or place another person in fear of his/her safety, may be considered a weapon.

Steps taken for failure to follow these behaviour guidelines

  1. Staff will redirect the camper to more appropriate behaviour.

  2. The camper will be reminded of the behaviour guidelines.

  3. If the behaviour persists, staff will discuss the problem with a parent/guardian.

  4. The staff will document the situation. The written documents will include what the behaviour problem is, what provoked the problem, and what corrective action was taken.

  5. If the problem persists to the point where a second phone call becomes necessary, GMB Dance may find it necessary to have the camper picked up early from camp.

  6. If a camper's behaviour at any time threatens the immediate safety of themselves, other campers, or staff, the parent/guardian will be notified and expected to pick up the child immediately.

Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct may result in the removal of a camper from the program and/or additional fees. There will be no refunds given for campers who are removed from the program due to violations of the Code of Conduct.

The above language and code of conduct are reflected directly from The Princeton University Summer Day Camp Code of Conduct, 2022, designed for students aged 6 - 14. Should there be any concern with the listed expectations or steps taken if the code of conduct is breached, please be sure to contact GMB Dance, support@gmbdancer.com
