Adult Company

A performance-based opportunity for adult dancers interested in creating, rehearsing, and sharing choreography in a supportive ensemble setting.

Adult Company is designed for dancers who want to deepen their connection to dance, build performance confidence, and be part of a creative group. Our first season will focus on building the ensemble, developing choreography together, and preparing for performance opportunities.

Pilot Program Goals

For the 2026/2027 season, Adult Company will begin as a small, committed group working toward two performance opportunities:

  • the GMB Year-End Recital

  • one community performance

Over time, we hope to develop Adult Company into an ensemble that creates, produces, and shares dance works in different settings throughout the year.

Who is Adult Company for?

Adult Company may be a good fit for dancers who:

  • want a creative and performance-based dance experience

  • enjoy working collaboratively

  • are interested in developing choreography over time

  • want to dance and perform as part of an ensemble

  • are able to make a consistent commitment to the group

Commitment & Requirements

Adult Company is built around consistency, collaboration, and the shared process of creating work together.

Monthly Company Rehearsals

Company members are asked to commit to the Saturday rehearsal schedule outlined below.

We recognize that adult dancers are balancing many responsibilities, and occasional conflicts are a natural part of life. Members are asked to prioritize scheduled rehearsals whenever possible and communicate clearly when conflicts arise.

Because choreography is created specifically for the dancers in the room, regular attendance plays an important role in the growth of the group and development of the work.

Weekly Technique Training

In addition to Company rehearsals, all Adult Company members are required to participate in at least one weekly Adult technique class throughout the full 2026/2027 season, including Sessions 1, 2, 3, and the Recital Session.

Dancers do not need to stay with the same genre all year and are welcome to switch between Adult classes from session to session:

  • Mondays: Jazz

  • Tuesdays: Ballet

  • Wednesdays: Tap

  • Thursdays: Contemporary

Regular training is an important part of the Company experience. Dancing together each week helps us become familiar with one another as movers, develop shared movement expectations, and build a stronger, more cohesive ensemble.

Year-End Recital

Adult Company members are also required to participate in the GMB Year-End Recital with their weekly technique class.

This means Company dancers will perform both their Adult Company work and the recital choreography developed in their technique class.

Potential Additional Rehearsals

Additional rehearsals may be scheduled as needed, particularly as we get closer to performances. Any additional dates will be communicated with Company members in advance.

Fees

The minimum cost to participate in Adult Company for the full 2026/2027 season is $586.00. This includes:

Adult Company | $90.00

Covers the nine scheduled Saturday Company rehearsals for the 2026/2027 season.

Required Adult Technique Training | $496.00

Adult Company members must participate in at least one weekly Adult Technique class in every session throughout the season:

Session 1 | $98.00
Session 2 | $98.00
Session 3 | $112.00
Recital Session | $188.00

Total Adult Technique tuition | $496.00

Dancers may choose a different genre from session to session. The requirement is to remain enrolled in at least one Adult Technique class throughout the full season and participate in the Year-End Recital with their technique class.

Total Minimum Annual Cost | $586.00

This includes one weekly Adult Technique class throughout the season plus all nine scheduled Adult Company rehearsals.

Additional costs may apply for costumes, additional rehearsals, or other performance-related expenses. These will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
