FAQ
Where are GMB Dance classes held?
Classes take place at two locations: Hantsport Baptist Church and Hants Border Community Hall.
Do I have to commit to the full season?
No. Each session is a complete unit, and tuition is billed per session. You’re welcome to join for one session or continue through the full year.
GMB Dance Company and RAD Ballet Exam students are exceptions, as these programs involve a full-season commitment from September through June.
Can we join mid-season?
In many cases, yes. Some classes may become full and develop a waitlist, but spaces often open up as schedules naturally shift throughout the season.
Do sessions build on each other?
Yes. While each session stands on its own, dancers who continue through multiple sessions will experience the most growth and continuity.
What level should my dancer register in?
Levels are based on the dancer’s age as of December 31 of the dance season.
How do I know which class to register for?
Classes are organized primarily by age, with programming designed to support dancers in an encouraging and age-appropriate environment.
If you have questions about scheduling, class styles, or registration, feel free to reach out!

New Programs
In addition to our established season classes, GMB Dance is introducing new programs designed to support different ways of entering, experiencing, and engaging with dance.
These offerings include introductory classes for beginners, small-group programming with more individualized support, and new creative opportunities for adults interested in collaborative performance work.
Together, they reflect our belief that there are many valid ways to move, learn, create, and participate in dance.
The Basics | Adult Intro to Dance
Designed for adults who are new to dance, wanting to strengthen the basics, or interested in exploring movement in a welcoming environment.
This class focuses on the foundations that support all dance styles—coordination, rhythm, balance, and body awareness—presented in a clear and encouraging way.
There is no expectation of prior experience, just bring your curiosity, presence, and willingness to move.

With a maximum of 6 dancers and a flexible structure, the program encourages creativity, confidence, exploration, and connection through movement, while allowing dancers to participate in ways that feel comfortable and meaningful for them.
This offering reflects GMB Dance's belief that there are many valid ways to move, learn, and participate in dance. The program is facilitated by Andrea Cann-Tracey, whose approach honours each dancer's unique interests, strengths, pace, and ways of engaging.
