Drop-off & Pick-Up

Dress Rehearsal — Friday, June 5

Please enter through the front entrance of the school.

After sign-in, dancers will be directed to the audience or backstage to prepare for their time on stage.

Each class is scheduled for a specific time. Dancers are welcome to arrive early and stay later if they wish, but must be ready for their call time.

→ Dress Rehearsal Schedule

Please review this carefully.

Pick-Up:
Dancers may leave following their scheduled rehearsal time. Please connect with your dancer in the audience or lobby area where they will be signed out.

Recital Day — Saturday, June 6

  • Dancer Arrival: 1:00 PM

  • Doors Open: 1:30 PM

  • Show Begins: 2:00 PM

→ PLEASE NOTE: The Dress Rehearsal Schedule is different than the final order of the show. The final show order will be posted at Dress Rehearsal.

Pick-Up:
After the show, please wait for your dancer in the audience or upper lobby so backstage check-out can run smoothly. To support this monitored dismissal process, please do not go backstage to find your dancer.

Dancers are welcome to bring water bottles and clean snacks for the wait at Dress Rehearsal. Please mind your costumes!

Backstage & Supervision

To help create a smooth, calm, and safe experience for all dancers, backstage access is limited to staff and confirmed volunteers only.

We understand this can feel a little nerve-racking, especially for newer dancers and families, but it is an important part of the performance experience. We are building a wonderful team of volunteers to help support dancers through all the excitement, transitions, and challenges of the day*.

Our backstage volunteers assist with:

  • Hair and makeup touch-ups

  • Washroom breaks

  • Costume changes and organization

  • Keeping dancers calm, organized, and ready for the stage

Dancers are supervised at all times while backstage. Our goal is for every dancer to feel supported, prepared, confident, and proud as they head on stage.

We kindly ask that families do not go backstage unless they are assigned as confirmed volunteers. Thank you for helping us maintain a focused and organized backstage environment for all dancers.

*If you’d like to volunteer, or know of someone who would, please fill out this form:

Costumes, Hair & Makeup

Please review the following for details specific to each class: → Hair & Make Up Guide

Dancers should arrive in their first costume on the schedule with make-up on.

Avoid bringing valuables to the theatre.

Costume Declaration

Included in Session 4+ is a costume fee of $20.00 per student, per class for the Recital. This fee helps support the growth of the GMB Dance costume library, allowing costumes to be reused and recycled for future dancers and choreography.

After the show, GMB Dance families may choose to:

  • Purchase this year’s costume to take home for an additional $30.00, or

  • Return the costume to the GMB Dance collection

Families who return their costume may choose to:

  • Receive a $5.00 credit on their GMB Dance account, or

  • Donate the $5.00 toward the GMB Dance Scholarship Program

Costumes may be returned:

  • At the theatre immediately following the show, or

  • During the week of July 6–10 at Hants Border Hall

Costumes not returned by July 11 will be considered purchased and invoiced accordingly.

Please let us know your preference by completing the Costume Declaration Form here:
